The types of business and reasons for needing a financial projection template

Financial projections template for startup

Financial projects for a startup are probably more challenge to prepare than they are for an established business.

The reason for the difficulty is that for any new busibness there are no prior periods to base any projections or assumptions on. With a startup you are starting from scratch and preparing financial projections from a blank canvas.

Having said that, having financial projections for a startup is a key part of the startup process. This is especially true where you are raising either bank finance or investment finance.

Our financial projections template is ideal for startups. One of the main reasons why is due to the speed and easy of use.

This is how one of our customers explained it…

It took only 10 minutes and I had a complete cash and profit forecast printed and ready for the bank, including balance sheets.” Adrian B in the UK.

The main difference for a startup business over an existing business is there are usually no opening balances to enter. Out financial forecast template includes an ‘Open’ data entry section, but where your startup business doesn’t have opening balances, this can easily be ignored.

Tech startup financial projections template

What if your new startup business is a tech startup? Not a problem, as our financial projection template caters for every business type.

It’s easy to enter your income projections for however many months you require them to be. Once your sales projections have been entered, select the ‘prepaid-period’ from a drop-down list, and the financial projections template does ‘the rest‘ for you.
